Getting Around

Car hire

The Canary Islander recommends the Cicar company, since it offers the best value deals on all the islands. Hiring a car is the best way of getting to where you want to go at a time that suits you. Book your car in advance so that it will be ready for you at the airport when you arrive. Always take out full insurance to ensure that your holiday is not ruined by an expensive accident to your hire car.

Bus

Cheap and reliable way of getting around all the islands, to and from the airport and links to the capital that connect to holiday centres in the south throughout the day and most of the night. Your hotel will suggest which bus number you need to reach your planned destination, but you can check out timetables on this website. These are often in Spanish, but if you click - LÍNEAS Y HORARIOS - at the top of the page, you will find all the bus routes.

Taxi

Taking a taxi to your hotel or apartment when you arrive at your destination airport takes away the possible stress of driving on new roads and actually finding your accommodation after a tiring flight. The cost of the taxi fare to your hotel depends on which resort you are staying in, but should be a convenient added luxury for your peace of mind. Taxis around your resort are cheap and reliable for short distances, but there are set prices for destinations that are not set on the meter. Just ask the taxi driver how much it costs to go to your destination. The Canary Islander recommends Cicar.
